PRESTON: "Cristina, I could promise to hold you, and to cherish you. I could promise to be there, in sickness and in health. I could say till death do us part. But I won't. Those vows are for optimistic couples, the ones full of hope. I do not stand here on my wedding day optimistic or full of hope. I am not optimistic. I am not hopeful. I am sure. I am steady. I'm a heart man. Take 'em apart, put 'em back together, hold them in my hands. I am a heart man. So this, I am sure. You are my partner. My lover. My very best friend. My heart. My heart beats for you. And on this day, the day of our wedding, I promise you this. I promise you to lay my heart in the palm of your hands, I promise you... me."
ADDISON: [after hearing Preston's vows] "I think I speak for ever woman here when I say... Dump her. Dump Yang and marry me."
MEREDITH: "No matter what, you walking down that aisle today. I need you to go down that aisle."
CRISTINA: "Is the toilet paper cutting off your circulation?"
MEREDITH: "You marrying Burke, it´s a sign. Sign that people like you and me ... can do this. Be healthy, be happy. You marrying Burke restores my faith in... me."
CRISTINA: "Ohhhh I get it. My wedding is about you."
MEREDITH: "Yes."
MARK: [to Derek] "I was an excellent best man."
DEREK: [to Burke] "Worst case scenario, I sleep with your wife in 10 years."
PRESTON: [smiles]
PRESTON: "There’s no change. Thought you should know."
CRISTINA: "No kidding."
PRESTON: "You know, some do come back from this."
CRISTINA: "You know what? I’m not a civilian. I know the science here. It’s drinking time."
PRESTON: "Not yet. You have a responsibility to Meredith."
CRISTINA: "No. Uh-uh. I don’t do this stuff. You should know. I don’t go to great lengths."
PRESTON: "Well, you were there for me."
CRISTINA: "After. After I knew you were going to make it. Hey, I’m not proud. Okay, I just... I can’t. I can’t go back there. I can’t. I can’t go back there and watch her."
PRESTON: "Listen to me. This is about you and the woman you call your person. And you do know the science here. And if she dies, and you're sitting here when that happens, I can’t see you coming back from that. Come and say goodbye to your friend."
PRESTON: "What is your problem?"
CRISTINA: "Everyone’s back. Everyone’s back except her. And I listen to her. Everyday, about her McLove life. Her McDreamy, her McCrap. And the one day, the one day I have a thing she disappears."
PRESTON: "Meredith. This is about Meredith."
CRISTINA: "She doesn’t know yet."
PRESTON: "Meredith?"
CRISTINA: "She’s my person."
PRESTON: "Right. And if Meredith doesn’t approve, then what?"
CRISTINA: "This... this is not about getting her approval, it's about…"
PRESTON: "What?"
CRISTINA: "Telling her makes it, makes it…. If I murdered someone she’s the person I’d call to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor."
PRESTON: "Okay, now you’re likening someone here to a corpse. I’m done."
CRISTINA: "She’s my person."
CRISTINA: "Dr. Grey, I need to ask you. Will it get in my way? Can I have both? Can I be a great surgeon and have a life? Because there is this man who just asked me to marry him and I know you tried to have both, but you split up with Meredith's dad. And I know this is none of my business."
ELLIS: "It is none of your business... and... I didn't try hard enough."
CRISTINA: "I don't do rings. Don't expect me to suddenly change. I'm a surgeon, just like you. And we'll have money, we can hire a wife."
PRESTON: "Are you saying yes?"
CRISTINA: "Y-yeah."
PRESTON: "I'm not letting you scrub in tomorrow."
CRISTINA: "Well, I'm not wearing a ring."
PRESTON: "Okay."
CRISTINA: "Okay then."
PRESTON: [pauses] "YES!"
MEREDITH: [to Ellis] "You think that I like making these decisions for you? You think it's fun to get calls from the nursing home asking whether I was planning on giving the nurse, who changes you every morning a Christmas tip? But I do it. Because you have managed to alienate everybody else in your life and I am the only one, so I have to step up and do it. You wanna know why I'm so unfocused? So ordinary? You wanna know what happened to me? You! You happened to me!"
PRESTON: "Meredith. Would you like seconds?"
MEREDITH: "Maybe Cristina would like some. Cristina, would you like some?"
PRESTON: "I only made enough for three."
MEREDITH: "You just said there were seconds."
DEREK: "This isn't at all awkward."
MEREDITH: [to Cristina, then Preston] "You're enjoying your meal at the International House of Silence. Burke, you have to feed Cristina. She doesn't cook and she will starve to death."
CRISTINA: "I have cereal!"
MEREDITH: "You two live together, someone has to be the first to speak."
PRESTON: "I am giving a dinner party. If she wants to sit there, she can sit there. Let's just enjoy our evening and talk about something else."
ADDISON: "I always find it confusing. If you know the bride AND the groom, which side do you sit on?"
ALEX: "I just try to find the hottest chick in the room and sit by her."
ADDISON: "Stop."
ALEX: "Do you want to ditch the reception and grab a drink?"
ADDISON: "Stop it. You don't want me."
ALEX: "Maybe I do."
ADDISON: "You want Ava."
ALEX: "She's not Ava anymore. She's Rebecca and I barely know her."
ADDISON: [pauses] "Look at me. Look at me! You suck. To me, you suck. I kind of hate you. But Alex, you do not get unlimited chances to have the things we want. And this I know. Nothing is worse than missing an opportunity that could change your life. No matter what her name is, she'll always be Ava to you."
CRISTINA: "I was right. I swear I really believe what I did was right. I don't want you to forgive me. Frankly, I'd find it patronizing if you did. Because... while I know I was right, you think I'm wrong. Which doesn't matter... because... I'm in this. I'm in this for the long haul. And I'm in this to finish the race. So if that means I don't win this one, then fine. I don't win. You win. I'm talking. See? I'm talking first. You win."
PRESTON: "Marry me."
PRESTON: "What was that?"
CRISTINA: "You’re gonna have to put up with me being…nice and sweet for a little while."
PRESTON: "That’ll be a nice change of pace."
CRISTINA: "Shut up."
PRESTON: "That’s more like it."
CRISTINA: "There's a club. The Dead Dads Club. And you can't be in it until you're in it. You can try to understand, you can sympathize. But until you feel that loss... My dad died when I was nine. George, I'm really sorry you had to join the club."
GEORGE: "I... I don't know how to exist in a world where my dad doesn't."
CRISTINA: "Yeah, that never really changes."
MEREDITH: "I can't take this anymore!"
IZZIE: "What?"
MEREDITH: "Let her off the hook. Let Cristina off the freaking hook."
CRISTINA: "Meredith!"
MEREDITH: "Izzie, you cut the LVAD wire and she stuck by you and did Denny's ECHO. Alex cheated on Izzie with syph nurse and she helped you study for your boards. And George, when everybody was calling you 007-"
GEORGE: "She was calling me 007." [leaves]
MEREDITH: "Just let her off the hook."
ALEX: "It's okay."
IZZIE: "Sorry."
CRISTINA: "Why can't you just mind your own business, you know? What is your problem?"
MEREDITH: "You're my sister. You're my family. You're all I've got."
CRISTINA: "I'm so tired."
MEREDITH: "I know. Me too."
PRESTON: "She's a motivated student. It's nothing to be ashamed of."
CRISTINA: "Thank you."
PRESTON: "A bit of a kiss-ass, but that's hard to control."
GEORGE: "Look, they're coming out."
PRESTON: "That's Colin Marlow."
ALEX: "Like the Marlow transplant?"
PRESTON: "Like the greatest thing in cardiothorastic surgery in a generation. Dr. Marlow. I'm Preston Burke. I'm a great admirer of your work, sir. Particularly the..."
COLIN: "Yes, thank you... Would you excuse me for just a second?"
COLIN: [to Cristina] "Well... you going to give me a hug or what?"
IZZIE: "You guys seen Bailey? What are we doing?"
GEORGE: "Uh, checking out the new Chief candidate."
MEREDITH: "The Chief sent in a ringer. We're lurking in a way that subtle when there was two of us, but isn't now that it's 12."
CRISTINA: "I heard it was someone from Stanford. All the professors there loved me."
ALEX: "They loved you?"
CRISTINA: "I was a great student."
CRISTINA: "Move, move, move."
GEORGE: "She doesn't like it when people ask."
CRISTINA: "The ringer's in there with the Chief."
IZZIE: "Yeah, and whoever it is loves Cristina, because everyone at Stanford just loved Cristina."
CRISTINA: "Shut up."
CRISTINA: "Meredith, please say something, say something! I... I don't know. Say what I would say you if you were me."
MEREDITH: "Okay."
CRISTINA: "Good."
MEREDITH: "Got it."
CRISTINA: "Good. Go."
MEREDITH: "Stop whining. This is your wedding day. You will got on that aisle. You will get married! If I have to kick your ass every step of the way to get you there. You will walk down the aisle and you will get married. Do you hear me Cristina? We need this. We need you to get your happy ending."
CRISTINA: "Okay, I´m ready."
CRISTINA: [narrating] "In some ways, betrayal is inevitable. When our bodies betray us, surgery is often the key to recovery. When we betray each other, the path to recovery is less clear. We do whatever it takes to rebuild the trust that was lost. And then there are some wounds, some betrayals... that are so deep, so profound that there is no way to repair what was lost. And when that happens, there's nothing left to do but wait."

CRISTINA: "When you got shot, I walked away. And you cannot let that go, can you? I'm sticking now. I'm sticking. Do you know how tired I am? Do you know how scared I am every time we go into surgery? But I do it, for you."
PRESTON: "Do you know how scared I am when we go into surgery? I don't have to just worry about my career now. I have to put yours on my back too."
CRISTINA: "We are a team!"
PRESTON: "There is no team. There is no team! There is only me, once again, making allowances for your emotional shortcomings!"
CRISTINA: [pauses] "We shouldn't say anymore."
PRESTON: [pauses] "No. We shouldn't."
DEREK: "Six-letter word for 'pinnacle.'"
MEREDITH: "Zenith."
DEREK: "Ah, this is good. No sex. Crossword puzzles. Current events. When does the knitting start?"
MEREDITH: "Shut up. Good things come to those who wait."
DEREK: "Yeah? I want sex."
MEREDITH: "There will be no sex."
CRISTINA: "Am I interrupting sex?"
DEREK: "No."
CRISTINA: "Good. Get out."
DEREK: "What? You can't ask me to leave."
CRISTINA: "Meredith."
MEREDITH: "Give us a second."
DEREK: "When I get back, there better be some sex."
MEREDITH: "Why are you so sweaty and ick?"
CRISTINA: "I jogged here."
MEREDITH: "You don't jog. We don't jog."
CRISTINA: "What if Derek robbed a bank?"
MEREDITH: "What?"
CRISTINA: "Say Derek was robbing a bank and while he was in there, you were waiting outside because it was your job to drive the getaway car."
MEREDITH: "Why would Derek rob a bank?"
CRISTINA: "Just go with me. Please?"
MEREDITH: "Okay, Derek's robbing a bank."
CRISTINA: "And he gets caught, but no one knows you're involved, 'cause you were driving the car."
MEREDITH: "Okay, Derek's in jail and I'm in the mystery car. What's the question?"
CRISTINA: "Would you turn yourself in? Or would you stay quiet and let Derek go down for a robbery in which you were a complicit participant? Or would you stand by him?"
MEREDITH: "Well, whose idea was it to rob the bank?"
CRISTINA: "I don't know. I don't know. His. But you helped? Could you live with yourself if you just walked away and let the man you love take the fall?"
MEREDITH: "If you tell me, maybe I can help. If you tell me."
CRISTINA: "No, I'll see you- I'll see you at work."
PRESTON: "Why are you in this line?"
CRISTINA: "It’s the syphilis line."
PRESTON: "You don’t need to be in this line."
CRISTINA: "I don’t?"
PRESTON: "There’s no one else. That surprises you?"
CRISTINA: "Nothing surprises me."
PRESTON: "Do I need to be in this line?"
CRISTINA: "No."
PRESTON: "Okay then."
CRISTINA: "Okay."
PRESTON: "Why are you acting like the sky is falling?"
CRISTINA: "The sky isn't falling. It already fell. George knows."
PRESTON: "I was in surgery for 14 hours yesterday and no tremor."
CRISTINA: "Yeah, with me by your side ready to jump in."
PRESTON: "I haven't had a tremor in a week."
CRISTINA: "George knows. And this is not any surgery. You're operating on his father."
PRESTON: "I am aware of that and I am fine."
CRISTINA: "Well, he's going to do something. I know him. He's not gonna just stand by and say nothing."
PRESTON: "There's nothing to say. I had a tremor and now I don't."
Cristina: We need a strategy. We have to figure out our story and come up with a plan.
PRESTON: "Cristina, you are too intense."
CRISTINA: "I am too intense? I have been working my ass off making sure nobody here knows. Running your board, learning surgical procedures I shouldn't have to know until my fifth year covering you."
PRESTON: "You're covering me? And I haven't been covering you?"
CRISTINA: "Excuse me?"
PRESTON: "I'm just saying. We're a team."
MEREDITH: "Derek's camping. Taking time. Getting space."
CRISTINA: "Prestons do not go into the woods. A guy named Preston is gonna get his ass kicked by a squirrel."
IZZIE: "It's basically a slumber party. They do it outside, we do it inside. It's really the only difference."

DENNY: [message / voiceover] "Dad, mom. It's me. I'm calling from Seattle Grace Hospital where the beautiful, talented and incredibly stubborn Dr. Isobel Stevens has... she's given me a brand new heart and promised to marry me. I know we've had our differences and I'm sorry we've been out of touch. Believe it or not, I was trying to make everything better. I know you're angry but I hope you'll forgive me. It turns out, sometimes you have to do the wrong thing. Sometimes you have to make a big mistake to figure out how to make things right. The stakes are painful. But they're the only way to find out who you really are. I know who I am now. And I know what I want. I've got the love of my life, a new heart and I want you guys to get on the next plane out here and meet my girl. Everything's going to be different now, I promise. From here on out, Nothing's every going to be the same. I love you, bye."
CRISTINA: "His mother rivals my mother and that's saying something. Both of them, dark and evil."
MEREDITH: "I'm missing dirty stripper Cristina. She was fun and less angry."
CRISTINA: "I miss philandering whore Meredith. She was trashy, and much less idyllic."
CRISTINA: "He's gone."
MEREDITH: "I... I don't think he's gone. Uh... his stuff is still here."
CRISTINA: "No. No. His trumpet isn't here. His entire Eugene Foote collection, vinyls and CD's. His grandmother's picture was by the bed. His lucky scrub cap was hanging on the door. He's gone. I'm.. I'm free. Damn it. Damn it, damn it! Oh God, get this off me! Take this off, take this off! I can't... Help me, help me, help me!"
